I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1997 with a degree in painting. Since then, I have pursued various creative endeavours, including photography and web design, before, more recently, returning to the drawing that I love. I have also been a tutor in a mental health organisation.
I am excited to be able to combine my experience of both art and counselling to provide you with coaching sessions to help with artist's block, which can show up in a variety of ways, including impostor syndrome and procrastination.
During a coaching session, we explore the thoughts, feelings and beliefs at being an artist and making art that might be holding you back. We identify the cause of the block before breaking it down into more manageable baby steps that you can immediately put into practice. Come armed with a notebook and pen (or sketchbook and pencil!) While a coaching session is not about commenting on your artwork technically, it can be helpful to bring some of it to a session, which is why sessions take place by video or in-person.
(Please note that this is not art therapy.)
